How to Avoid Procrastination

What’s the status of your latest eBook?

For some time now, I’ve been laying the groundwork for my third eBook. It’s been almost two years since my first two eBooks, “IoT Notes” and “Your IoT Journey,” made their debut.

Much of the content for this forthcoming eBook has already been penned in my IoT World Blog. The primary task remaining is to consolidate these pieces into a cohesive eBook format.

However, I’ve been ensnared by procrastination for over two years now.

How can I overcome this?

My strategies include setting a deadline, dedicating specific time slots for drafting (likely over the weekend), and finding a serene environment for focused writing. I’m even considering a beach vacation to fully concentrate on my writing.

My goal is to finish the eBook within the next three months.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any advice on battling procrastination?

  1. I think all your answers are good for you to do. Only thing I’d add is instead of having one big deadline, have many little deadlines. You feel more accomplished that way. And if one day you don’t complete a deadline, let it go and try again.
Like going to the gym. You can stop going because you missed a day or didn’t lose weight that day. Or you can keep trying the following day.

      1. Keep the audience waiting in 😳 lol. I’m writing my book called Traveling Trails. Didn’t mean to, just became an interesting story and I have a couple writers on my team that want to write a book and keep talking themselves out of doing it because it is not ready or any reason. So to show you just get started I decided I will make it into a book. I have no outline, no names for the characters, no clue what I will write next. When a post from Traveling Trails pops up, I had the urge to write a chapter. So I find myself intrigued on how my book will end. But hey buddy, I am going to click on your link and check out your story! Cheers, great writing, keep having fun.
