It was frustrating to get into Affiliate memberships because there were tons of them, but we had a problem sharing all the products.

Here I was, all excited to dive into this world, armed with enthusiasm and dreams of supplementary income.

Yet, after a whole year, my earnings were just a mere $5.00.

That’s not even enough to buy a decent meal!

In fact, I can earn more than $5.00 per month by just writing in Medium!

While this could have been a major blow to my morale, I chose to view it as a learning curve.

Reading success stories on Medium about others raking in hundreds, even thousands, through affiliate marketing made me pause and reflect.

What was I missing?

Was it the strategy, the content, or something else entirely?

The Heart of My Passion – Books

I love books.

They are gateways to different worlds, teachers of new ideas, and companions in solitude.

Naturally, my choice to promote book reviews with affiliate links felt like a perfect blend of passion and opportunity.

But passion alone isn’t enough to drive success in affiliate marketing, as I learned the hard way.

Books, as much as I adore them, aren’t big-ticket items.

The commissions are modest, and it takes a significant volume of sales to see substantial earnings.

It dawned on me that my love for books, while a great starting point, needed a more strategic approach to translate into affiliate marketing success.

Embracing Change

More analysis — what has gone right or wrong.

After some introspection and analysis, I’ve identified a few key areas for improvement.

Firstly, I need to diversify. Sticking solely to books might limit my earning potential, so I’ve decided to broaden my horizons.

I’ve started diving into the analytics, tracking where the traffic is coming from and what topics resonate with the audience.

Interestingly, there’s a clear trend showing an increased interest in AI and tools like ChatGPT. This is a goldmine of opportunity!

People are curious about technology, and I can combine this interest with my book reviews.

Perhaps exploring books on AI, or integrating AI insights into my reviews, can make my content more appealing and, in turn, drive more traffic and engagement.

Learning and Growing

My journey in affiliate marketing is far from over.

It’s a continuous learning process, a path riddled with trial and error.

But I’m more determined than ever.

I’m set on experimenting with different strategies, analyzing what works, and, most importantly, keeping my passion for books alive.
